St Albans author Tom McNab supports Rennie Grove
St Albans based author Tom McNab is once again making a donation to Rennie Grove Hospice Care from the proceeds of a special performance of his latest radio play.
A Whisper in the Heart will be performed at the Trestle Arts Base, Russet Drive, St Albans, on Wednesday 6 May at 7pm. This will be an opportunity to see a radio play performed in front of a live audience.
A Whisper in the Heart is set in a grubby Valencia hotel in 1955, where two of the greatest film directors of modern times, Leni Riefenstahl and Orson Welles, come together to make a low budget documentary for the BBC. Welles has been rejected by Hollywood, and Riefenstahl has been persecuted since the War because of her association with Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party. Both are virtually penniless and face an uncertain future. In A Whisper in the Heart, Welles and Riefenstahl, with the help of their BBC producer Carruthers, try to come to terms with themselves, and with what will face them in an uncertain future.
Get in quick for what is sure to be a sell-out performance. The charity is offering the chance for supporters to buy tickets before they go on general sale. To book tickets, costing £12, please call 01727 731010 or 01727 731000 until Sunday 1 February.
Tickets will go on sale through the Trestle Theatre's website from Monday 2 February.
