Christmas Superdraw raises over £54,000 for local hospices
The Hospice Lottery Partnership (HLP), which raises funds for 6 local hospices, held it’s Christmas Superdraw over the holiday period, with one lucky individual winning the top prize of £5,000. And several others benefitted too, with second and third prizes kindly donated by Oakman Inns & Restaurants and Waddesdon Manor, plus ten prizes of a year-long HLP memberships, worth £52 each.
The first prize winner was a Mrs B from Uxbridge. She didn’t believe it when she was first told she had won:
"You are joking, aren’t you?" she said on hearing the news. "Gosh, that is wonderful – I’ve never won anything before!"
Belinda Ellis, Business Development Manager at HLP, said: "We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who bought tickets - this Superdraw has been so successful, bringing in £54,671 which goes directly to our partner hospices and helps to raise awareness across their catchment areas. If you weren’t lucky this time, look out for details of the Summer Superdraw 2015 coming soon!"
The Christmas Superdraw is held as an additional draw to the weekly lottery. There are just over 33,000 weekly players all of whom help to raise money to support the specialist care that our partners provide. The Hospice Lottery Partnership has raised over £7million for its six partners (including both founder members of Rennie Grove Hospice Care: Iain Rennie Hospice at Home and Grove House) to them to date.
Play the Hospice Lottery every week to raise more money for local hospice care! Visit the Hospice Lottery Partnership website for full details.
