Rennie Groovy Shoes Day is back
Rennie Groovy Shoes Day is back for 2015 and this year promises to be even groovier than last year!
The charity is now looking for schools, businesses and community groups to get involved, have fun and help raise funds as well as awareness of what Rennie Grove Hospice Care does in the local community.
Rennie Grove is encouraging people to take part and wear their grooviest shoes for the day in return for a donation. This year the charity has set up a special text number where you can make a donation of £1 by texting SHOE15 £1 to 70070.
Penny Crosswell, Rennie Grove Community Fundraising Manager, explains: "We really want people to get creative with their footwear for this special day and we’re especially looking for groups, schools and businesses to join in too. If you think that you would like to get involved with your work colleagues, school friends or members of a group or club, we would love to hear from you and we have special fundraising packs all ready to send out to get you started. We can also support you with balloons, collections tins, posters and other resources."
Maybe you could hold a groovy event or a shoe inspired cake sale? Rennie Grove can also provide you with a Groovy Shoes Quiz so you could organise a quiz night and charge people to take part!
Rennie Groovy Shoes Day will take place on Friday 19 June and in addition to raising awareness of Rennie Grove Hospice Care, the money raised on the day will help the charity to care for more than 2,500 local patients and families in the next year.
