School girl Miranda Pointer is over the moon to win Rennie Grove Hospice Care’s design a shoe competition.
Miranda, seven, who lives in St Albans and attends SS Alban & Stephen Catholic Infant School, said: "I entered the competition because it sounded really fun to make a groovy shoe and I love art and especially making things. Also my Mum and Dad told me about Rennie Grove and I wanted to help by doing my art.
“My friends at school keep asking if the shoe that won fits me, but that would have been very hard to get the exact right size - it's a big shoe to fit a giant I think!"
Rennie Grove launched the competition earlier this year to encourage children to design a shoe in the run up to the charity’s fundraising and awareness day, Rennie Groovy Shoes Day, which takes place on Friday 19 June. Miranda won a £15 shoe voucher from The Children’s Shoe Company in Marlow and her design will now be used to help promote the event.
