Holmer Green’s Iain Rennie Hospice at Home charity shop, part of Rennie Grove Hospice Care, will celebrate its fifth birthday on Wednesday 14 May and has a week of activities planned to help mark the occasion.
From Monday 11 May there will be daily offers on purchases including Buy One Get One Free bargains and half price toys and games on Friday. On Saturday (16 May) there will also be the chance to fill a carrier bag with ladies clothes for £5.
During the week there will be balloons for the children, cupcakes for sale and a silent auction where a Darth Vader and Spiderman figure are up for grabs.
On Saturday 16 May the shop is also hoping for a visit from High Wycombe Fire Service from 2.15pm as well as face painting, a tombola and raffle. The winner of the silent auction will also be announced.
Sue Barry, Acting Manager at the shop in Pond Approach, said: “I would like to thank everyone, including our team of volunteers, who have supported the shop over the last five years and helped make it such a success.”
More than 55 volunteers ensure the smooth running of the shop, which is open Monday to Saturday from 9am-5pm. More volunteers are always welcome, particularly those who could help on a Saturday. Quality donations are also welcome and should be taken to the back of the shop during opening hours. People are advised not to leave items outside the shop when it is closed.
Deborah Gould, Director of Retail and Trading, said: “The Holmer Green shop is one of our busiest and well used shops. People have supported it since day one and we hope they continue to do so.”
Last year the Holmer Green shop raised just under £200,000, which goes to help the charity support local people with cancer and other life-limiting illness and their families.
