Caring Gift Vouchers
What is a Caring Gift Voucher?
When you buy a Caring Gift voucher you make a donation that shows someone you are thinking of them as well as making a difference to our patients by supporting their care.
Simply choose your gift from the selection below and we’ll send you a Caring Gift voucher and ‘thank you’ card (you won’t receive the actual gift of course). You can then personalise your card and send it to the recipient of your choice so that they can learn how the gift you purchased on their behalf has helped fund Rennie Grove Hospice Care services. Alternatively, you can request an e-voucher to be emailed to you or directly to your chosen recipient.
Well-known TV and film actor, Geoffrey Palmer OBE, (pictured left) gives his stamp of approval for Caring Gift Vouchers as an ideal present for those difficult-to-buy-for people in your life. Geoffrey, who is also a Patron of Rennie Grove and long-standing supporter of the charity, purchases Caring Gifts every year:
“Caring Gifts are just the thing for those times when you want to give someone a lovely present but you don’t want to give them something that they don’t really want or need,” he says. “Every Christmas I buy Rennie Grove Caring Gift Vouchers for my family and friends, because it feels like I’m giving them something really worthwhile. They are such a good idea and would make great gifts at any time of the year for birthdays, anniversaries or even weddings. I’ll certainly be buying mine again this year and I hope that many others will join me.”
Our Caring Gifts are examples of how your money will be spent. Please be assured that your donation will go to where the need is greatest; helping to provide specialist nursing care and support to patients and families in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Choose your Caring Gift:
The Gift of Protection
It is vital for our nurses to maintain a high level of hygiene to protect patients with compromised immune systems from potentially harmful germs and bacteria. This donation would pay for a box of non-latex gloves.
The Gift of Comfort
Providing continuous medication using a syringe pump gives a patient constant pain relief so they can stay at home during their final days. This donation would buy two boxes of needles for a syringe pump.
The Gift of Diagnosis
Patients living with a life-limiting condition require regular health checks and observations. Using essential equipment our nurses can identify and treat changes to a patient's symptoms as soon as they appear. This donation would fund a blood pressure monitor and cuff.
The Gift of Support
When a patient comes to our Day Hospice they will be assessed by a specialist nurse who will offer symptom management and emotional support. This donation would fund a health assessment at Grove House.
The Gift of Detection
Changes to a patient's temperature can indicate they are at risk of developing an infection therefore early detection is essential. This donation would buy an ear thermometer and one hundred disposable caps.
The Gift of Compassion
It is particularly important on a first visit to a new hospice at home patient to spend enough time to understand their needs and wishes and draw up a personalised care plan. This donation would fund a 2hr first assessment by a specialist palliative care nurse. £50
The Gift of Power
A syringe pump provides constant pain relief to patients so that they can stay as pain-free as possible at home with their loved ones during their final days. This donation would pay for enough batteries to power a syringe pump for ten months.
The Gift of Time
Children rely on their parents to bring order and security to their lives. Our family support services are there to help children before and after bereavement. This donation will pay for three family support sessions for a bereaved child. £150
