'Our memory is the diary that we all carry about with us' - Oscar Wilde

It may be hard to believe in the early days, weeks and months, but the pain of bereavement does ease little by little. Coping with bereavement is not about ignoring your loss or forgetting your loved one. Your loss will always be a part of your life in some way. It is normal to be blindsided by your grief so that it feels like it's one step forward and two steps back.

However, do remember that the healing process isn't about 'fixing it' or making your grief disappear. It is more about recognising, adjusting and creating a new normal that affects every area of your life; physically, mentally, spiritually, socially and emotionally.

Our Bereavement Support Groups give the chance for people to come together and talk through their experiences, offering the opportunity to recognise that you are not alone in grief. These group sessions provide therapeutic, common sense and practical support, led by our trained and skilled facilitators.

Refreshments are served during the sessions and members of a bereavement group can attend for up to two years.

Who can come?

Anyone who has been bereaved is welcome to attend, as is anybody with a family member or friend who was cared for by Rennie Grove Hospice Care.
