What is it?
Our professional therapist offers specialist treatments to improve the appearance of and mobility in areas around scars.
Who can come?
If you have been diagnosed with cancer or another life-limiting illness, have had surgery and have been left with a tight, lumpy or uncomfortable scar, this treatment could improve your comfort and range of movement.
How do I get referred?
Any Health Care Professional involved in your care, including your GP, can refer you to Scar Treatment therapy clinic. However if you are already known to Rennie Grove, you can be referred by a member of staff. Alternatively you can refer yourself by either phoning 01727 731013 or by calling into our Drop-in Session on a Tuesday morning between 9am and 1pm when our nurses will be able to advise and assess you.
What will happen when I get there?
The therapist will use a combination of techniques such as massage and specialist treatment on a lumpy or uncomfortable scar that is causing discomfort or sensitivity.
When and where does the Scar Treatment Therapy Clinic take place?
Scar treatment therapy clinic takes place on the first Friday of every month at Grove House, located next to St Albans City Hospital.
