Occupational Therapy

Key Features of our Occupational Therapy provision include:

• assessment within the home environment to provide advice and equipment to enable independence and safety in everyday activities, such as managing personal care and falls prevention advice
• advice on coping with symptoms of the illness, such as conserving energy and managing fatigue
• running group sessions to promote well-being, provide peer support and develop strategies to support people in daily life
• liaising with healthcare professionals on your behalf

This service is intended for people in Herts or Bucks with a life-changing or life-limiting illness.  Patients new to Rennie Grove Peace need to complete an initial assessment with our day services nurse before accessing our day services (see ‘How do I access this service?’ below for more information).

People living in Bucks are welcome to use this service also, but may find the distance too far to travel.  If so, we can recommend similar day services nearer to the home, and still support in other ways through our community-based services, such as Family Support.

Like all Rennie Grove Peace services, our occupational therapy is completely free of charge. It’s not means tested and there’s no cost to patients or their families. 

We can deliver the services thanks to the generosity of the local community. In short, donations, charity shop income and fundraising events cover two thirds of our running costs.  If you would like to make a donation, please click on the link below.   

Those already registered as a patient with our Grove House Day Services can simply speak to a nurse or phone 01923 60 60 30 to discuss if occupational therapy would be beneficial.

New patients will need to have an initial assessment prior to accessing day services.  This can be arranged by asking your GP to refer you. Please call 01923 60 60 30 if you have any questions or need more information prior to being referred to this service.
