A local charity is offering a unique opportunity to enjoy cream tea at a stunning country house and have two items valued by an expert from the Amersham Auction Rooms team.
On Sunday 15 May between 1pm and 5pm Danesfield House Hotel will host the brand new event, which is raising funds for Rennie Grove Hospice Care and is being organised by the charity’s Marlow Fundraising Group. Group member Susan Morton explains: “Both companies were keen to support the charity and combining their kind offers meant we could create this special afternoon to raise funds.”
Cream tea will be served and valuations carried out in the magnificent Versailles Suite, used for weddings and other prestigious events. Susan added: “If we have a warm day then we can open up the doors onto the fabulous grounds and guests can enjoy some spring sunshine in some truly spectacular surroundings.”
Danesfield House Hotel is a member of Rennie Grove’s Corporate Partnership Programme, and as such is showing its support for the hospice at home charity by donating the room free of charge. Simon Knowles from Amersham Auction Rooms is also providing his time and expertise at no cost to the charity.
Claire Redrup, Community Fundraising Manager for Rennie Grove, said: “Our Marlow Fundraising Group only formed just under a year ago and it’s great that, with the generous support of local companies, they are already bringing a whole new range of events to our fundraising calendar.”
Rennie Grove provides 24/7 responsive care in patients’ homes, supporting families affected by cancer and other life-limiting illness. It costs the charity over £6.7 million every year to keep providing its unique service at no cost to patients or their families.
Tickets to the cream tea and antiques event at Danesfield House Hotel are £20, available from Susan on 01628 471483 or Margaret on 07932 624283.
Susan added: “It’s really good value because the cost of an afternoon tea alone at Danesfield House is £17.50. For an extra £2.50 you can have two items valued and know that your ticket price has funded an hour of Rennie Grove’s specialist nursing care in a patient’s home.”
There will also be a raffle with prizes kindly donated by Danesfield House Hotel, The Compleat Angler, Rebellion Brewery and Sunrise Health & Beauty among others.
