Rennie Grove Hospice Care, has launched a brand new fundraiser for 2016, combining the most popular elements of its previous events: coloured powder paint and obstacles!
Colour Blast: The Scramble is a 5km obstacle course, which will see adrenalin-fuelled supporters clambering over climbing frames, tackling tunnels, and crawling under camo nets, as well as being blasted with colour at intervals along the course. After taking on over 20 obstacles and running through five colour stations, participants will be multi-coloured as they reach the finish line.
Due to the nature of the event, Colour Blast: The Scramble is open to over 12s and is a perfect team building exercise for colleagues or a great day out with a difference for friends. If you’re looking for a family-friendly event though, Rennie Grove is also offering Colour Blast – a 1km colour run with three colour stations but without the obstacles, which is open to all ages.
Gillian Barnett, Director of Fundraising & Marketing at Rennie Grove Hospice Care, explains: “Participants will be showered with coloured powder, which is non-toxic, corn starch based and perfectly safe, so it’s an ideal event for everyone to enjoy. It isn’t a timed race but a fun and amazingly colourful way to raise funds and support a charity on your doorstep.”
The event takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Penn House Estate, Amersham on Sunday 25 September. Online registration is now open with a limited number of early bird places at a reduced price, with under 4s going free. All participants will receive a t-shirt, a medal, and snacks and water at the finish, which will be covered by the entry fee.
Those taking part are encouraged to raise sponsorship for Rennie Grove Hospice Care, which supports local patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families by providing a range of services, including a 24 hour responsive Hospice at Home service.
