Windows reflect volunteers’ dedication

As part of national Volunteers’ Week, Rennie Grove Hospice Care has been thankingShop windows to thank volunteers its 1,500 dedicated volunteers, around 700 of whom donate hundreds of hours in their local charity shop each week.

During the 12-day awareness campaign (1 – 12 June) senior staff members and Trustees of the hospice charity have been visiting each of Rennie Grove’s 24 shops to thank volunteers in person. Shop managers and their assistants have also been busy dressing their windows in a special tribute to the amazing people who give up their time to help others.

Rennie Grove’s shop windows across parts of Bucks and into west Herts have boasted beautiful displays ranging from heartfelt thank you messages to super hero-themed designs and poignantly personal tributes.

Deborah Gould, Rennie Grove Director of Retail & Trading, explained: “Our shops are tasked with bringing in more than £2 million towards our services for patients and their families each year.  There’s no way we could achieve this target without our incredible volunteers.  The time and effort they dedicate to the cause is both humbling and inspiring.  These window displays are testament to our shop managers’ gratitude.  It’s just a small gesture but we hope our volunteers realise how very much we value their support.”
