Burning passion behind Chariots of Fire

St Albans man and long-term supporter of Rennie Grove Hospice Care, Tom McNab will be providing aplaceholder-250 unique insight into the famous 80s film Chariots of Fire on Friday June 24 from 7pm at the Abbey Theatre.   Showcasing the talents of Scottish sprinter Eric Liddell and his team-mates in the Olympic Games of 1924, the film was a smash-hit and sports coach Tom was its technical director.

The one-hour lecture, followed by an opportunity for questions and answers, will include DVD excerpts, references to the original script and an insight into how Tom selected and trained the actors to ensure the film’s athletic authenticity.

Appearing for one night only in St Albans, Tom will then take his lecture to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on August 1 and 11.
