Real life ‘Calendar Girl’ is guest speaker at Ladies’ Lunch

Rennie Grove Hospice Care is hosting a brand new event this September.  StTricia Stewart Michael’s Manor plays host to the charity’s first ever Ladies’ Lunch from 12pm till 3pm on Thursday September 22, where guests will hear from an inspirational woman with a unique story to tell.

Guest speaker, Tricia Stewart is the original ‘calendar girl’ and driving force behind the alternative Women’s Institute (WI) calendar that became a worldwide phenomenon.  The ladies of the Rylstone & District WI smashed their initial £5,000 fundraising target, making a massive £3.5 million for charity and inspiring the hit film and stage production of ‘Calendar Girls’.

Rennie Grove Director of Fundraising & Marketing, Gillian Barnett, said: “Our Ladies’ Lunch provides the perfect opportunity for friends and colleagues to enjoy a delicious lunch together in an elegant venue and be inspired by Tricia’s incredible account of her unexpected success.”

Guests can enjoy a prosecco reception in the lounge and terrace overlooking St Michael’s scenic gardens and lake, followed by a 2-course lunch with wine in the orangery-style lake restaurant and finishing with coffee and truffles plus the opportunity to win a fabulous raffle prize and bid on a range of luxury and leisure items in a charity auction.

The charity hopes its Ladies’ Lunch will raise around £5,000 for its services, which are all provided free of charge to patients and families affected by cancer and other life-limiting illness.
