Excitement is building for the Herts 10K which takes place at Rothamsted Research in Harpenden on Sunday October 9. Proudly labelled as Rennie Grove Hospice Care’s flagship fundraising event, the Herts 10K is the biggest 10K event in Herts and appeals to amateur and seasoned runners as well as walkers. Now entering its 11th year, the multi-terrain route challenges participants either to improve their personal bests or set their first ever competitive time whilst enjoying some beautiful scenery and a fantastic atmosphere.
Gillian Barnett, Director of Fundraising and Marketing said, “We’re really proud of the Herts 10K. Over the years it has given so many new and committed runners the chance to compete while raising money to help local families. In addition to the great sense of personal achievement it gives our runners and walkers, many also take part as a way of commemorating loved ones who were cared for by Rennie Grove. The event brings the community together too. The marvellous support we receive from local businesses and the many volunteers who give up their time to help out on the day combined with enthusiastic support from our runners’ families, guarantees a great atmosphere on the day.”
The headline sponsor for the Herts 10K is Levy Associates who have supported the event since its inception back in 2005. Gillian added, “Such committed support from sponsors means that we can make our events highly profitable and ensure that as much money as possible goes to providing care for local patients with cancer and other life-limiting illness as well as support for their families. We are very grateful to Levy Associates for this ongoing support.” Matt Murphy, Managing Director of Levy Associates said, “This is the 11th year of our proud sponsorship of the Herts 10K. We have seen it grow from strength-to-strength and we are thrilled to be part of such a good cause. We are also entering a team into the race. Keep up the good work Rennie Grove!”
