Harpenden resident, Julian Gilbert, works in wealth management for local financial planning company Wealth Matters and has been supporting Rennie Grove Hospice Care since reading an article in the Herts Ad about the Prudential London Bike Ride
A keen cyclist himself, he not only took on that cycle event between the capital and Surrey this summer, but also completed the gruelling Etape Du Tour, where riders can tackle the same stage in the same race conditions as the professional cyclists on the Tour de France.
So far he has raised £2,750 for Rennie Grove. This autumn he returns to France with Harpenden Round Table colleagues to cycle around 200km in the vicinity of Nice, this time raising funds for Rennie Grove and the Rainbow Trust.
Kate Grigg, Head of Fundraising in Herts, said: “It’s great that Julian, who had no prior connection with us before he read the Herts Ad article, is turning his personal challenges into much-needed funds for our patient care and family support. We’re hugely grateful for his support.”
