Trustee vacancies at Rennie Grove Hospice Care

Do you have the skills to help a unique service move forward, a passion for the localSuzanne (landscape) community, and a positive attitude towards charity? You could be the perfect candidate.

Rennie Grove Hospice Care is looking for three experienced candidates to join its Board of Trustees and Governance Committees and who will help shape the charity for the future.

The charity is seeking a Treasurer and a Fundraising volunteer to join the Board of Trustees and a Clinical Governance Committee Member. The ideal applicants for all roles will have experience in their field at director level or above as well as a commitment to Rennie Grove and its aims.

The Fundraising Trustee must have experience within a number of different areas of fundraising with a track record of success in income generation.  David Parkins, out-going Fundraising Trustee, explains why he decided to volunteer as a trustee 10 years ago: "When I became a trustee I hoped that I might contribute positively towards the charity’s future. Little did I realise just what immense personal satisfaction the role would provide.

“Through contact with a wide range of wonderful nurses and other people involved in the work of the charity, you appreciate just what a difference Rennie Grove Hospice Care can make to so many local families at times of great need."

The successful candidate for the Trustee Treasurer will be a senior position within the Board and will be a qualified accountant with knowledge of charity finances. A paediatric qualification and a genuine interest in palliative care is required for the role of the Clinical Governance Committee member.

Jenny Provin, Chief Executive for Rennie Grove Hospice Care said, “The experience and commitment that Trustees and Committee members bring is essential in shaping the direction, sustainability and stability of the services we offer to adults, children and their families. These are exciting and rewarding roles which makes a real difference to the care that we provide within our local community.  Please join us as we make plans for the next decade.”

Rennie Grove Hospice Care provides care and support for patients in parts of Bucks and Herts who are diagnosed with cancer or other life-limiting illness. Every year through its 24/7 Hospice at Home service, Family Support services and range of Day Services, the charity gives thousands of patients the choice to stay at home, surrounded by their families and friends.  As advances in treatment mean patients live longer, often with multiple life-limiting conditions, Rennie Grove is preparing to respond to the predicted rise in referrals to its unique service.
