Knitting needed for festive fundraising

Rennie Grove Hospice Care is asking people to knit, stuff and sell mini stockings orknited money pouch Father Christmas gift card holders to raise funds and awareness of its 24/7 responsive service.

Head of Fundraising in Herts, Kate Grigg, explains: “You can download the knitting patterns from our website so it’s definitely something that would work for knitting groups or people wanting to learn a new skill whilst supporting their community.”

Once you’ve created your Christmas cutie, pop sweets or chocolates in your stocking and sell them alongside your Santas at Christmas craft fairs or in your school or work place.

“Last year hundreds of knitters helped us raise more than £1,300 - as well as priceless awareness of Rennie Grove,” adds Kate.  “Our nurses offer a 24/7 responsive service all year round in patients’ homes – but helping to keep families together at home is particularly poignant at Christmas.  By getting involved with our Christmas knits, you can help make this happen.”
