Rennie Grove Hospice Care has opened registration for its 2017 Chilterns Cycle Challenge with a special discounted Early Bird offer for those who sign up before 6 January 2017.
The charity is hoping that keen cyclists will take advantage of the offer to sign up while the offer is active, taking the opportunity to get friends and family involved as a great Christmas gift too.
Next year’s event, which takes place on 19 March, will mark the seventh time the Chilterns Cycle Challenge has taken place and promises to be the most exhilarating yet.
The course, which starts and finishes in the centre of Aylesbury, is suitable for everyone: from those new to cycling, to people who want to ride through the beautiful Chilterns’ countryside, and the more committed cyclists. With a thrilling 35 mile or mammoth 75 mile route to choose from there should be something to suit all abilities.
Early Bird adult entry costs £18.50 for 35 miles and £26.50 for the 75 mile option. The entry fee includes a medal on completion, water along the route, feed stations, a fully signed and marshalled route, mechanical support on the day and fundraising support from the charity’s events team.
Last year the Chilterns Cycle Challenge attracted more than 500 participants and raised around £30,000 to support Rennie Grove’s nursing and support services for local patients with cancer and other life-limiting illness. £32,000 funds one of the charity’s specialist hospice at home nurses for a year.
Jo Turner, Head of Fundraising in Bucks for Rennie Grove Hospice Care, said: “We hope people will take advantage of our early bird offer. This could also be a great opportunity to buy a place for someone as a Christmas gift and is the perfect incentive to get fit in the New Year! We are hoping 2017 will prove even more popular than previous years, so don’t delay; sign up now to guarantee your place.”
