Start as you mean to go on in 2017 with a bracing outdoor dip in an open air pool. Ed Suttie, fresh from conquering the North Pole, is bringing back his popular Polar Bear Plunge on New Year’s Day. With plenty of hot chocolate, cakes, music, face painting, children's activities, spectators to cheer the plucky plungers on and even a bar, this promises to be a fun-packed event for all the family.
Join Ed and his wife, Clare, from 11:30am till 4pm at St Albans Sub Aqua Club on Cottonmill Lane for a sponsored dip with a difference. Don your swimming cozzie or your favourite onesie: last year saw a penguin, giraffe and group of tutu-bedecked snowmen diving in to raise funds. This year all monies raised will be split between Rennie Grove and Earthworks.
Book a slot in advance for £12.50 (adults) and £5 (children) at www.tickettailor.com/checkout/view-event/id/69662. Prizes for youngest plunger, oldest plunger, best fancy dress, best corporate effort, best team effort and more.
