Rennie Grove Hospice Care is suggesting two different ways in which you can support local families affected by cancer or other life-limiting illness in the run up to Easter.
Between 1 March and 13 April, local churches who host Lent or ‘frugal’ lunches can raise funds by inviting congregation members to donate to the charity’s 24/7 responsive Hospice at Home service.
The charity is also calling on knitting groups - or any social circles who would be willing to take up their needles and knit – to create cute Easter bunny egg cosies and holders.
Claire Redrup, Community Fundraising Manager, said: “We’re hoping people will download the knitting patterns from our website, knit as many Easter bunnies as they can, fill them with chocolate eggs then sell them to raise funds.”
Once you’ve created your Easter cutie, pop a chocolate egg inside then sell them in your school or work place or at community events like craft fairs and cake sales.
