Golf Club makes £20,000 for charity

Aldwickbury Park Golf Club in Harpenden has raised a fantastic £20,296.80 for RennieAldwickbury Park Golf Club Cheque presentation Grove Hospice Care as part of a Charity of the Year partnership during 2016.

The captains for the men’s, ladies’ and senior sections spearheaded the fundraising, which took the form of golf days, race nights and even a fantasy golf league.

Chris Westcott, the Club Captain for 2016 said: “I would like to thank all of the members and staff at the golf club for their generous contributions to Rennie Grove and the many local businesses who donated raffle and auction prizes. The final total raised certainly exceeded our expectations.”

Kate Grigg, Head of Fundraising in Herts, said: “We are thrilled with the success of this year-long fundraising relationship and so grateful to everyone who got involved.  This much money could fund a specialist nurse for more than six months, which will make a huge difference to hundreds of local families affected by life-limiting illness.”
