Rennie Grove Hospice Care was delighted to present A Night of Dining & Cabaret with Strictly star Anton Du Beke and one of the world-class live singers from the show, Lance Ellington at Chartridge Park Golf Club on Thursday 16 March.
Supported by their acclaimed jazz quartet, the duo provided more than 100 guests with an evening of musical entertainment in true showbiz style. The one-off event for Rennie Grove was sponsored by Rayners Extra Care and raised more than £15,000 for the charity’s 24/7 Hospice at Home service in Buckinghamshire.
Buckinghamshire resident Anton has appeared in all 14 series of Strictly to date, having won numerous national and international Ballroom dance awards with dancing partner and former fellow Strictly professional, Erin Boag, with whom he is currently touring in their show Anton & Erin: Swing Time.
Director of Fundraising & Marketing at Rennie Grove, Gillian Barnett, said: “Anton had a brief 10-day break from tour dates in mid-March and he very kindly arranged this fantastic evening for us. It was quite an intimate gig really, in comparison with the packed palladiums and brim-full ballrooms he usually commands! It was a really special opportunity for people to enjoy being entertained by a master of the art. It costs us £7.2 million each year to reach all the families who need our nursing care. Support from high profile people like Anton and Lance really helps us because it gives us something new and exciting to offer our loyal supporters and enables us to reach new audiences who might become supporters in the future.”
