If being surrounded by the foil remains of Easter eggs whilst trying to get children on a chocolate high into bed is something you’d rather avoid, Rennie Grove Hospice Care has the answer. Invest in a superhero outfit instead of chocolate and enter the family into the charity’s Hemel 10k and 1.5k Superhero Fun Run at Astley Cooper School, Hemel Hempstead on Sunday 9 July!
Instead of gorging on chocolate treats this Easter, Rennie Grove is asking you to encourage the family to get active this summer by signing up to the Hemel 10k or Superhero Fun Run. This event offers a physical activity suitable for the whole family.
The multi-terrain 10k challenges runners with an off-road route through the stunning surrounding countryside. This race option is open to anyone aged 12+ and costs £20 to enter, which includes chip timing, a t-shirt and water at stations along the route. With over 10 weeks to go until this event takes place, there is still plenty of time left to train – even for beginners. Dust off the trainers and get going!
A choice that is perfect for the entire family, particularly those with younger children, is the 1.5k Superhero Fun Run. This race is open to all ages and costs just £5 to enter. With a number of Superhero movies hitting the big screens in the next few months, there won’t be a shortage of costume ideas.
All participants will receive a medal as they are cheered to their finish lines and a prize will be awarded to the best dressed Superhero!
