Sun shines on triathletes

More than 50 people took part in the annual mayor’s City Sprint Triathlon on Sunday May 7, which looks set to raise around £2,000 for Rennie Grove Hospice Care.

Triathletes took on a 5km cycle on indoor stationary bikes at Westminster Lodge –mayors triathlon finish Everyone Active, then swam eight lengths of the leisure centre’s pool before venturing outside into the sunshine for a 3km off-road run.

It was a family affair for the youngest participant, Maisy Manson, who took part with her dad, Neil.  The event attracted people of all ages and abilities, with fastest finisher, Matthew Lambden from St Albans, crossing the line in just 20 minutes and 48 seconds.
