Tickets are selling fast for a Question of Sport charity dinner in High Wycombe in November, which is fast becoming one of the major events of the year on the Rennie Grove Hospice Care fundraising and social calendar.
There is still time to get together with friends or colleagues and take part in the glamorous evening of eating, auctioneering and quizzing. Early birds have been busy booking their places to ensure that they don’t miss out, but tables of 10 are still available for those who wish to enjoy the drinks reception, three course dinner with wine, fully interactive sports quiz and an exciting auction and raffle with fantastic prizes.
The inaugural Bucks Question of Sport dinner and auction at Wycombe Wanderers FC last year proved a big success, with 170 people attending and helping to raise around £20,000. A sister event in Herts in March raised an astonishing £45,000, thanks to everyone who supported the VIP evening by donating, bidding, buying raffle tickets – and, of course, pitting their wits and testing their brain cells in the sports quiz.
Proceeds go towards funding vital nursing care and 24/7 responsive support for people in Bucks and Herts with life-limiting illnesses, and support for their family and loved ones.
The latest Question of Sport charity dinner takes place on Thursday 16 November at Wycombe Wanderers FC, Adams Park, Hillbottom Road, High Wycombe. Tickets are £100 per person or £1,000 for a table of 10. Whole table bookings are preferred, but smaller groups are welcome and will be placed in a team.
Claire Redrup, Community Fundraising Manager at Rennie Grove said, “This headline event is one of the highlights of the season and we're really looking forward to a night of fun and fundraising with the local business community. We have high aspirations for the fundraising and are looking to exceed our total from last year to keep our nurses out there in the community caring for those in need."
