Join us for some cracking countdown to Christmas fundraising fun

Rennie Grove’s countdown to Christmas is well under way, with a feast of fundraisingchristmas events guaranteed to help the festivities go with a seasonal swing whilst helping raise funds for this important local charity.

Test your knowledge at a charity quiz night on Saturday 18 November at 1st St Albans Scout Group, Wadley Hut, 56 Watford Road, St Albans. Tickets are £8 per person, with a maximum of eight people per team. Bring your own nibbles and drink. Call 01727 731028 to book your seat.

Learn how to give yourself a festive glow at an evening of beauty with Elizabeth Arden on Thursday 23 November at Boots in St Albans. Starting at 7pm ,the evening includes a demonstration of the product range, the opportunity to try some out for yourself, a fabulous make-up tutorial and the chance to have an Elizabeth Arden make-over.  Tickets cost £5 and are available in store.

Take a coach trip from St Albans to Bury St Edmunds Christmas market on Sunday 26 November and spice up your seasonal shopping at the 300-plus stalls in the bustling street market and nearby bazaars and cathedral. There’s delicious festive food and mulled wine to enjoy while you browse the stalls and a range of cafes, tearooms, pubs and restaurants all offering a warm Suffolk welcome. Make the neighbours green with envy over your gorgeous front door decoration, handmade under expert guidance at workshops at Grove House, St Albans on Wednesday 6 and Monday 11 December. Immerse yourself in Christmas music at Rennie Grove’s Carol Concert that takes place on Thursday 7 December at St Peters Church in St Peters Street and features The Chiltern Ladies Choir. It will be hosted by television presenter Pam Rhodes. Tickets cost £15 each and include a drink and mince pie and can be purchased from ​the website or by calling 01727 731028.
