It’s not too late to sign up for Rennie Grove Hospice Care’s new Reindeer Run that’s taking place in Lowndes Park, Chesham on Sunday 26 November. Online registration is open until midday Friday 24 November or you can register on the day.
Starting at 11am the run is open to walkers, joggers and runners all abilities and any age; the 2K Reindeer Run is a perfect opportunity for you to get into the festive spirit with friends or family or both.
Included in the entry fee are reindeer antlers, face paints, a T-shirt and a carrot-shaped medal at the finish line.
Entry is £16 for adults aged 16 and over; £10 for children between 5 and 16 and £5 for the 4s and under.
Did you know that the entry fee only covers the cost of putting on the event? Rennie Grove Hospice Care relies heavily on public support to fund 87% of its £7.6 million annual budget. This comes from people taking part in challenges and events like the Reindeer Run.
Their sponsorship money goes towards providing local patients – adults and children – who have cancer or other life-limiting illnesses with 24/7 responsive end-of-life care. Rennie Grove also provides support to patient's families with its Family Services Support Team who offer help and advice throughout and then bereavement counselling once a loved one has passed away. To help Rennie Grove to keep offering these services to patients they need the Reindeer Runners to raise as much money they can.
There are many other ways that people can help Rennie Grove Hospice Care to raise the funds it needs.
As well as participating in events and raising sponsorship people can help by visiting one of Rennie Grove’s 24 (soon to be 26) shops to browse through the range of good quality, preloved items on sale.
Or how about supporting the charity by purchasing some packs of their Christmas cards, your diary and calendar for 2018? All these items are available in their shops or online www.renniegrove.org/shop.
