Ladies are guaranteed to get their fashion and fundraising taste buds tingling with a fabulous afternoon tea in the sumptuous surroundings of St Michael’s Manor in St Albans, hosted by Rennie Grove.
Traditional teatime treats of sandwiches and yummy cakes all washed down with a glass of bubbly will be on the menu – plus the opportunity to hear well-known blogger and author Caroline Jones talk about her love of fashion, pattern, colour and texture, and her solo challenge to style herself wearing a different pre-loved charity shop outfit every day for a year.
Fashion-stylist Caroline took on the quirky project she named ‘Knickers Model’s Own’ in memory of her mother Mary Benson, who passed away in October 2014. Mary was cared for by Rennie Grove nurses during her illness. Caroline’s award-winning project made national headlines, spawned a book and raised many tens of thousands of pounds for charity.
Caroline said: “I am so grateful to the team at Rennie Grove Hospice Care for providing my mum Mary with at-home palliative care and for the sensitive way in which they cared for her and my family. Giving a fashion talk is my small way of saying thank you and I hope the event raises much needed funds for this vital community service.”
And if the mouth-watering mix of a Champagne afternoon tea and an inspirational story isn’t full of enough fizz, there will also be a Q&A session where teatime guests can quiz Caroline and get some first-hand fashion tips.
So please join Rennie Grove for this Ladies Champagne afternoon at St Michael’s Manor on Thursday June 14, 2pm-5pm. Tickets are £30 and you can register to buy your tickets online here or call Gemma on 01727 731028. All money raised will go to Rennie Grove Hospice Care, raising funds to provide precious hours of care for adults and children with a life-limiting illness.
