Brush off your brogues, polish up your platforms and slip on your slingbacks – Rennie Grove Hospice Care’s Groovy Shoes is back!
Each year we encourages everyone to wear their wackiest, weirdest and most wonderful shoes to help raise funds for this local hospice charity.
We provide care and support for adults and children diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illness and their families. All of our services are provided at no cost to patients or families and so we rely on support from the local community to raise the money we need - more than £18,000 every day - for us to continue to provide our services.
Groovy Shoes 2018 is taking place on Friday 22 June and we're encouraging schools, community groups, companies and friends to take part with each person donating £1 to show off their stylish shoes on the day.
Louise Hewitt, Community Fundraiser at Rennie Grove said: “Groovy shoes is a simple and fun way to raise funds for Rennie Grove. It’s ideal to do in schools or at work as it gives people the opportunity to show off special pairs of shoes that they may not get the chance to wear very often or to customise a pair especially for the day. Whilst we have made 22 June Rennie Grove’s Groovy Shoes day, people can pick any day that suits them best to wear their fabulous footwear. We ask everyone participating to donate a £1 so it is affordable too.”
So if you’re crazy about clogs, manic about mules or wild about wedges then Groovy Shoes is the ideal fundraising activity for you to get involved with.
We will be featuring your Groovy Shoes photos across its social media channels so send in your photos to @renniegrove on Twitter or @renniegrovehospicecare on Facebook using #groovyshoes.
