Customers Tap for Change at two Shops

Two Rennie Grove Hospice Care shops – one in Berkhamsted and one in Beaconsfield - really do have fundraising on tap with a novel device to help customers looking to find new ways of supporting the charity.

 Tap for change

For the past few weeks, people popping in to either shop have been able to ‘Tap for Change’ by making contactless bank card donations via a smart new gadget in the eye-catching pink and purple Rennie Grove colours.

They can choose how much they wish to give, with the proceeds going towards responsive 24/7 hospice at home care for local people and their families, tailored to their own needs and wishes.

The 27 Rennie Grove shops across Herts and Bucks provide an important source of funding towards this specialist care, thanks to their popular appeal among shoppers looking for quality goods at hard-to-resist prices. Many regular shoppers call in weekly – with some even popping in each day!

The shops are friendly, welcoming and stocked with all kinds of tempting bargains.  The Berkhamsted shop specialises in ladies and children’s clothing and accessories and also offers an extensive range of good quality toys and baby equipment such as buggies, travel cots and high chairs. At the Beaconsfield shop you can chose from a wide range of fashions for all ages, books, toys, jewellery, useful homeware and that must-get greetings card.

There are also traditional donation boxes by the tills for customers keen to show their gratitude for an unbelievable bargain. Many more simply wish to donate spare coins because Rennie Grove is a cause close to their hearts.

Deborah Gould, Director of Retail and Trading at Rennie Grove said: “The ‘Tap for Change’ boxes mean that donations are easy to make when you don’t have any loose change in your purse or wallet. And collection boxes located near the shop window mean that donations are still possible even when the shop is closed.

“Our customers and supporters who donate items for sale are the lifeblood of Rennie Grove retail and trading operations,” she added. “We are always pleased to see them and are grateful for all their support and the difference they make to the work of Rennie Grove.”
