Vehicle Rental Services’ double driving donation

Hospice at home nurses and their fundraising colleagues are over the moon after receiving not one but two brand new sets of wheels courtesy of Beaconsfield-based business Vehicle Rental Services (VRS).

VRS Kia donation to Rennie Grove

VRS adopted Rennie Grove as their charity of the year back in 2016 and have continued to generously support the Bucks and Herts based charity ever since.

Its most recent donations are a smart Renault Clio that will ensure our specialist hospice at home nurses have a reliable vehicle in which to make their patient visits and a swish Kia estate for fundraisers to transport equipment to events.

Mark Brandom, Managing Director at VRS became a loyal and much valued supporter of Rennie Grove when our nurses helped care for his Father.  Since then Mark and his colleagues have tackled several challenges and undertaken many other fundraising activities on behalf of Rennie Grove.

Mark explained: “Rennie Grove Hospice Care is VRS’ nominated charity; it is locally based and provides vital services that make a positive difference to its patients and their families.  In addition to raising funds we are really pleased to be able to help Rennie Grove by providing a brand new car for use by the nurses who provide these important services. This latest car means that they will have another reliable vehicle, which is particularly important during the winter months at night.  We are also pleased to have been able to donate a roomy estate car for the fundraising team to use.  They often have to transport large loads of equipment to events so we hope that having an estate car will make it easier for them.”

Tracey Hancock, our Director of Fundraising said, “The continued generosity of VRS is truly remarkable and we are incredibly grateful to Mark and his team. Having the use of these two brand new vehicles gives peace of mind to our nursing and fundraising teams that each travel many thousands of miles each year as part of their work. It also saves us many hundreds of pounds that can instead be spent on patient care.”

We provide a 24/7 responsive hospice at home nursing service that delivers specialist care in patients’ homes at any time of the day or night, 365 days of the year.  Our team of nurses and health care assistants cover nearly 500,000 miles each year to reach all the patients who need round-the-clock care and support.  Managing symptoms as soon as they occur is a crucial part of helping patients to remain at home and avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions.
