He then moved into business consultancy with TACK International Ltd, a global corporate training company, and worked with multinational organisations around the world.

After leading a management buyout of the business he continued to work part time with company after it was sold to another larger global HR consultancy.

Since his part-retirement Eric has worked as a trustee with DENS (charity for the homeless), The Pepper Foundation (hospice at home for children), and Tring Park School for the Performing Arts.

He is also a member of Berkhamsted Rotary.

‘After retiring from full time work I have greatly valued the opportunity to support local charities with very worthwhile objectives – but which nevertheless had to operate like businesses. Having been fortunate enough to have healthy children myself, I have been very emotionally involved with The Pepper Foundation which works with Rennie Grove to provide a wonderful home nursing service for seriously life-limited and terminally ill children. Rennie Grove is a very successful and professional organisation delivering a superb service to a wide range of people and I really appreciate the chance to make a contribution to its work for the community.’
