Stephen is a respiratory physician and recently retired from being Head of Respiratory Medicine at UCH. He was also at the Royal Brompton Hospital from 1977-1994.
"I was delighted to become Chair of Rennie Grove as it is a wonderful charity and the demands on its expertise grow every year. We want to facilitate all those with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses to be cared for at home; to meet the challenge of the new NHS funding and keep people out of hospital which is sensible and economic; and become recognised as a preferred model of care throughout the country.
"During my time as Chair so far I have been most impressed by the intensity of support for the charity and how many people have been touched by us and want to give something back. I love seeing so many people enjoying a day at Grove House and also the care and pride in the garden. On a recent trip out with the night team I was also touched by the enormous gentleness and kindness shown towards our patients.”
