What is Light up a Life?
Rennie Grove’s Light up a Life services are a wonderful uplifting way to come together with your friends and family to remember someone special. The services are open to anyone in our community, not just people whose loved one was cared for by Rennie Grove.
Sponsor a light
Sponsor a light on one of our Christmas trees to shine in memory of a loved one at our Light up a Life services in the local area. Dedicating a light is a positive way of remembering someone special, knowing their light is bringing comfort to others as well as to you. Sponsor a light here.
Everyone who makes and dedication and sponsors a light in memory of a loved one, will be sent a beautiful Light up a Life card by post. The card includes a silver star to hang on your Christmas tree with your own special message.
Attend a Light Up a Life ceremony
Join us at a ceremony where you can light a candle to those whose memory you treasure. These ceremonies are taking place across West Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire throughout November and December. Light up a Life services for 2019 are listed below:
Flackwell Heath Sunday 17 November, 6:30pm, Christ Church.
Hemel Hempstead Sunday 17 November, 4pm, St Mary’s Church, Old Town.
Princes Risborough Sunday 24 November, 4pm, Duke Street Gardens (near Tesco). Organised on behalf of the local community and Rennie Grove Hospice Care by the Rotary Club of Princes Risborough. All dedications made on Rotary dedication forms will appear on the dedication boards displayed close to the Tree of Light. Dedications made direct to Rennie Grove Hospice Care can be included by contacting David Griggs on 01844 345554.
Prestwood Thursday 28 November, 7:30pm, Prestwood Village Hall.
Beaconsfield Sunday 1 December, 4pm, St Mary’s and All Saints Church.
High Wycombe Sunday 8 December, 3:15pm, Union Baptist Church.
St Albans Sunday 8 December, 4pm, Mayor’s Carol Service, Clock Tower.
Although most Light up a Life services are based indoors, the Tree of Light service in Princes Risborough and the Mayor’s Carol Service in St. Albans are outdoor events.
These are non-denominational ceremonies but can often include a prayer, reading or carols which you can choose to participate in.
Please note that our photographers will be taking pictures at these events. They may be used for press, social media and our website. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform a member of staff.
This year we are offering everyone who isn’t able to come along to one of our services the opportunity to write a special message on a silver star which will be hung on one of our Christmas trees. You can request one by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Once you have your star, simply fill out your message on the back and return it with the donation form enclosed.
The money raised from sponsoring a light will help fund our specialist nurses and family support services who will be caring for patients and their families over the festive season. Thank you.
