Many families choose to limit funeral flowers to immediate family and invite other family and friends to make a donation to a chosen charity in their loved one's name instead.
Whether or not we cared for your loved one, we would be privileged to accept donations in their memory. Collecting donations instead of flowers at a funeral can help Rennie Grove Hospice Care to continue to offer care to local families affected by life-limiting illness giving patients the choice to be cared for at home surrounded by their families and favourite things.
Funeral directors are willing to collect donations in lieu of flowers, handling the administration of these gifts for you and then forwarding them on to us. It can take between 8-12 weeks before the funeral donations reach us.
Sometimes family and friends might prefer to make a simple one-off donation at the funeral. We can help by providing a collection box and special envelopes which include a Gift Aid declaration, which allows us to claim 25p for every £1 that people donate at no extra cost.
We also have our own Forever Loved Fund which you might like to consider as a way of honouring the memory of a loved one. Find out more about the Rennie Grove Forever Loved Fund.
Many funeral directors also now offer an online service and will set up a tribute for you, so that donations can be made via credit or debit card. They will provide an online link for you to share.
Alternatively, you might like to give friends and family a link to our website for them to make a donation directly to us online. They can do this by going to www.renniegrove.org/donate.
