Our Education Team oversees the training needs of all clinical and non-clinical staff. Training starts with an induction programme and 6/12 mentoring support. Members of the team accompany nurses and health care support workers on home visits to patients and families to build their confidence and support in care delivery giving valuable feedback.
Professional support continues throughout the career of each nurse and health care worker at Rennie Grove Hospice Care. The Education Team arranges courses and runs training for ALL staff across the organisation. Nurses are encouraged to develop expertise in particular areas, such as heart failure disease, working closely with specialist nurses in the field and sharing their knowledge and practice with their colleagues.
There is a robust Clinical Supervision process in place for clinical staff and Individual Performance Review for all staff.
Our Education Team is not just here to support our own nurses and staff but to embed excellent End of Life Care throughout our local communities by raising awareness of Death and Dying. We host students from three local universities during their training and hold an annual conference each year for any health care professional with an interest in palliative care.
