Volunteer receptionists provide an efficient, yet calm and caring service to both phone callers and visitors to Gillian King House in Chalfont St Giles and help with basic administration as and when needed.
The receptionists must record all calls and messages accurately and ensure they are passed onto the correct team or individual. Diary management for Family Support Services (FSS) including; booking in appointments, checking the lone worker diary, taking detailed messages and contacting relevant volunteers and office staff across the charity when and where appropriate. Receptionists are also asked to help with basic administration tasks, as and when needed.
So if you are a people person, efficient and flexible, then this may be the role for you.
The work load at the reception desk and on the phones lines is variable, so volunteers need to be comfortable with a busy or quiet environment.
Receptionists work on a rota providing at least one half day a fortnight (preferably a week) either from 9am-1pm or 12:50-5pm. We are currently looking for volunteers on Monday mornings, alternate Monday afternoons and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons.
