Our weekly Drop-in Session is an informal morning when we welcome anyone to Grove House to find out more about how we help patients diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses and the support we provide for them and their families.
Who can come?
Absolutely anybody! The morning is for patients, carers, family members, friends or colleagues and also for potential volunteers, other healthcare professionals and supporters of Grove House. If you have a concern that you would like to discuss with someone, if there is specific information that you need or if you simply have an interest in life-limiting illness and want to find out more about what we do, please do drop-in and join us.
What will happen when I get there?
You will be greeted by one of our volunteers who will make you comfortable, offer you a cup of tea or coffee and talk to you about how we can help. It may be that you simply need the chance to chat to a friendly face but if you need more specific information or would like to talk to one of our nurses or other members of staff, our volunteers will be able to point you in the right direction.
Whether you are a patient, carer or other visitor, please feel free to join in with the exercise or education session that will take place at 11.15am. You are welcome to stay and talk to our volunteers, nurses and other visitors until the end of the session at 1pm.
When and where is the Drop-in Session held?
The Drop-in Session is held every Tuesday between 9am and 1pm at Grove House which is located next to St Albans City Hospital.
What does it cost?
All Rennie Grove services are provided at no cost to our patients and families. If you would like to make a donation to support our work, please go to our donate page.
