We offer six-week courses of either Yoga or Tai Chi which provide gentle exercise to help boost your well-being. The aim of each course is to help you relax, learn techniques to practice at home and develop coping strategies.
Who can come?
If you have been diagnosed with cancer or another life-limiting illness, live within Rennie Grove’s catchment area and feel you would benefit from yoga or tai chi, you are more than welcome at one of our courses.
How do I get referred?
Any Health Care Professional involved in your care including your GP can refer you to the Day Hospice. However if you are already known to Rennie Grove, you can be referred by a member of staff. Alternatively you can refer yourself by either phoning 01727 731013 or by calling into our Drop-in Session on a Tuesday morning between 9am and 1pm when our nurses will be able to advise you and assess you for a place at Day Hospice.
What will happen when I get there?
In addition to the guided exercise, refreshments are provided and you will have an opportunity to chat with the other participants.
When and where are Yoga and Tai Chi Courses held?
The courses run on a fortnightly basis (alternating between Yoga and Tai Chi each week) throughout the year on Tuesday afternoons from 2-4pm at Grove House which is located next to St Albans City Hospital.
What does it cost?
All Rennie Grove services are provided at no cost to the patient or their family. If you would like to make a donation to support our work, please go to renniegrove.org/donate.
