Neale's story

“Dad sadly passed away earlier than predicted but the support from Rennie Grove didn’t stop there and I know that even very recently they called and spoke to Mum to make sure she was OK.”

Neale Redding (right with his mum and dad) explains how we helped his Dad – and how we continue to help his Mum.

“When Dad was first diagnosed with cancer, my family felt very isolated and my Mum, in particular, felt there was nobody to call for advice or support, especially in the evenings and at weekends. After Dad was admitted to hospital for the second time, we were made aware of Rennie Grove’s Hospice at Home nursing service.

“Their service gave us a support mechanism 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and it gave Mum much more confidence knowing that if she needed to talk to somebody, then there was a comforting voice offering advice from people who know what they are doing. Over and above this, a nurse would come out and offer care in the home and just generally give us confidence that we were all doing what we could to make Dad comfortable.

“Dad sadly passed away earlier than predicted but the support from Rennie Grove didn’t stop there and I know that even very recently they called and spoke to Mum to make sure she was OK.”
