When Grove House opened its doors in 1993, its focus was on day hospice services. Over the years the services offered have developed in response to local needs and today we offer a range of services to support with health and wellbeing and help our patients live well throughout their illness.
Drop-in sessions, open to all, enable patients and carers to discuss any concerns and be signposted to the services that meet their needs. Holistic care is at the heart of the services we offer, which include wellbeing clinics and therapies offering practical and emotional care and support to help patients live the best life they can. Patients also benefit from care and advice from occupational therapists and a specialist physiotherapist. Day services are currently provided on weekdays, from 9am-4pm for adults only.
Supporting us in providing this care are more than 200 volunteers who give generously of their time across many different roles at Grove House to ensure all services run smoothly. Since 2009 we have also provided 24/7 Hospice at Home care to the community of west Hertfordshire, delivered by a team based at Grove House.
While we are proud of the difference we are already making to local families, we can’t stand still if we are to continue providing the best possible services to the community in west Hertfordshire in the future.
Grove House was built 26 years ago, and is now in need of reconfiguration and refurbishment in order to extend the space available and help us adapt to the changing needs of our local community.
