The bereavement support line is provided by Rennie Grove Hospice Care as a telephone support service to family and friends of loved ones that have died. This telephone support line is open to all people that are bereaved in the St Albans and Harpenden area. This is a pilot project which we hope will be offered to all bereaved families within the Rennie Grove Hospice Care geographical patch. Comprehensive training specific to this role will be provided in conjunction with the Samaritans.
The bereavement line call handler is often the first point of contact for people making that very brave initial step to get support. As a volunteer you would offer immediate support by phone, explore the circumstances with the caller and together work out what options are available.
